Symptoms
Grid Infrastructure Configuration step fails in OUI during Grid Installation for Windows RAC cluster
Installing Grid software v. 11.2.0.4 (or higher) for new Windows 2-node RAC using OUI ("setup.exe"). All pre-reqs passed, Installation proceeds successfully through prepare, copy files, set up files, perform remote operations but fails at Grid Infrastructure Configuration step with error INS-20802 "The plug-in failed in its perform method".
While the logs were not very helpful in determining the root cause, the ocssd.log for 11.2.0.4 did present the following:
Additionally, the issue may appear to be related to disk configuration, specifically with the presence of the PRVG-10521 error in the log files.
