Local Bequeath sqlplus connection (sqlplus / as sysdba) is hanging and not allowing the connection due to LDAP problem. (Doc ID 2149276.1)

Symptoms

"sqlplus / as sysdba" will just hang and does not allow the connection

"sqlplus /nolog" is successful with no delay, but the subsequent "connect / as sysdba" hangs and does not connect.

There are lots of references to LDAP in the sqlplus strace output file along with Errors.
