How-To - Creating a Local Repository from a Compute Node Base Repository ISO
(Doc ID 2151708.1)
Last updated on AUGUST 22, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Exadata Hardware - Version 11.1.0.7 and laterLinux x86-64
Goal
The installation of software packages beyond those included in the base Exadata images is usually accomplished via the YUM package management tool. However, this tool requires an internet connection as it must communicate with the Oracle YUM repositories. For Exadata systems that are isolated from the internet, YUM will not function correctly. This document details the steps to create an RPM repository for use by YUM on those Exadata systems that have no internet connection. Section 5.3.8 of the Exadata Database Machine Maintenance Guide contains some additional information on setting up a local repository.
