Oozie Shell Action Reading From Standby Namenode - Raises "RemoteException(org.apache.hadoop.ipc.StandbyException)\: Operation category READ is not supported in state standby." (Doc ID 2158639.1)

Symptoms

While trying to run a hadoop command from an Oozie shell action, it is found to be reading the data from Standby NameNode. In a shell action if capture-output is enabled to capture the stdout messages, the captured stdout messages includes the following:

#Fri Jun 24 05:29:24 EDT 2016 2016-06-24=05\:29\:21,864 WARN [main] security.UserGroupInformation (UserGroupInformation.java\:doAs(1674)) - PriviledgedActionException as\:<user>@<HOSTNAME>.<DOMAIN> (auth\:KERBEROS) cause\:org.apache.hadoop.ipc.RemoteException(org.apache.hadoop.ipc.StandbyException)\: Operation category READ is not supported in state standby.
