opatchauto analyze and cluvfy fails with PRVF-6006 : unable to reach the IP addresses "node1,node2" from the local node (Doc ID 2191372.1)

Symptoms

opatchauto apply <patch_ID> -analyze fails with below error :

Failed:
Verifying shared storage accessibility

ERROR:
PRVF-6006 : unable to reach the IP addresses "node1,node2" from the local node
PRKC-1071 : Nodes "node1,node2" did not respond to ping in "3" seconds,
PRKN-1035 : Host "node1" is unreachable
PRKN-1035 : Host "node2" is unreachable

Verification cannot proceed

Verification of shared storage accessibility was unsuccessful on all the specified nodes.
NODE_STATUS::node2:EFAIL
The result of cluvfy command contain EFAIL NODE_STATUS::node2:EFAIL
OPATCHAUTO-72050: System instance creation failed.
OPATCHAUTO-72050: Failed while retrieving system information.
OPATCHAUTO-72050: Please check log file for more details.

Topology creation failed.

 


CVU (cluvfy) too fails with the same error :

export CV_TRACELOC=/tmp/cluvfy
cluvfy stage -post crsinst -n node1,node2 -verbose

Performing post-checks for cluster services setup

Checking node reachability...
PRVF-6006 : unable to reach the IP addresses "node1,node2" from the local node
PRKC-1071 : Nodes "node1,node2" did not respond to ping in "3" seconds,
PRKN-1035 : Host "node1" is unreachable
PRKN-1035 : Host "node2" is unreachable
ERROR:
Unable to reach any of the nodes
Verification cannot proceed

Post-check for cluster services setup was unsuccessful on all the nodes.

 

cluvfy trace file have the error recorded as below :
