Multi-threaded Replication - Replica workers apply the changes very slow (Doc ID 2205048.1)

Multi-threaded replicas are very slow, can't catch up the source.

No work load on on replica server.

No warnings or errors in the MySQL error log.

In the innodb status report, transaction section, showing replica workers are in "ACTIVE (PREPARED)" status:

These thread ids can be mapped to the replica workers.
