Purpose

This article provides answers to common questions, and discusses important information for Oracle RDBMS  release 9.2.X on HP Alpha OpenVMS.

Preface:

Oracle 9.2.0.2.0 has a new look compared to all prior releases on OpenVMS.

This release is the first to incorporate a UNIX like directory structure,
the first to utilize the Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) to create
databases, and the first to rely solely on the Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) for
installations. These enhancements will allow DBAs to transition between
platforms easier.

For more information on the directory structure, configuration files,
and command files see <Note 223105.1>.

For more information on the OUI tool see <Note 224236.1>.

For more information on the DBCA tool see <Note 226184.1>.
