Symptoms

One node of a 2-node 12.1.0.2 RAC cluster running on Windows is frequently evicted / rebooted and the following messages are reported in the Oracle Clusterware alert log file ($ORACLE_BASE\diag\crs\<nodename>\crs\trace\alert.log):

 

There is no mention of any errors in the Windows Event Viewer logs and the system is not under a heavy system load.

Changes

Installed McAfee HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention Services) or applied an updated HIPS policy as part of HBSS (Host Based Security System) deployment or company policy.
