DBCA Hangs While Creating Pre-12.1 database in 12.1.0.2/12.2 GI environment and using ASMFD for ASM storage.

Symptoms

DBCA is not progressing and stuck at 3% because not able to copy database file under ASM diskgroup while using ASMFD (ASM Filter Driver).

 Installed 12.2.0.1 Grid Infrastructure using AFD for ASM devices and installed 11.2.0.3 database binary.
