How to Confirm Big Data SQL 3.2 Queries to Hadoop Clusters and Smart Scan Are Working After Big Data SQL 3.2 Install (Doc ID 2334388.1)

Last updated on JULY 17, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Big Data SQL - Version 3.2.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Goal

After installing Big Data SQL 3.2 perform these steps on the Oracle database as the 'database owner user' user, typically the 'oracle' user, to confirm that queries to Hadoop clusters and Smart Scan are working. You can also confirm queries to multiple Hadoop clusters are working if the Oracle database connects to more than one Hadoop cluster.

Note: In the examples that follow, the SQL "create table" clauses vary depending on the table structure of the external Hive tables where the data resides on the Hadoop cluster, see the BDS 3.2 User's Guide for more details.
