Installation of One-Off Patch 27077322 On Big Data Appliance 4.10 OL5/OL6 with Big Data SQL 3.2
(Doc ID 2340322.1)
Last updated on JULY 25, 2021
Applies to:
Oracle Big Data SQL - Version 3.2.0 to 3.2.0 [Release 3.2] Linux x86-64
Purpose
This document describes installation of Patch 27077322 on an Oracle Big Data Appliance(BDA) 4.10 OL5/OL6 cluster.
Patch 27077322 is a Big Data SQL(BDS) patch for BDS 3.2 on BDA 4.10. (It does not apply to any other Hadoop cluster environments running BDS 3.2.).
On BDA V4.10 Patch 27077322 is always required. See the 3 scenarios described in the below sections:
Scenario 1. Big Data SQL is not installed on the cluster. Scenario 2: Big Data SQL is installed on the cluster, but is not version 3.2. Scenario 3: Big Data SQL 3.2 is installed on the cluster.
If patch 27077322 is not applied, the BDA 4.10 cluster may execute a reconfigure with an incomplete BDS 3.2 version. A reconfigure of BDS may occur when Kerberos and Active Directory are enabled/disabled while BDS 3.2 is enabled.
Another example of what can happen if patch 27077322 is not applied: 1. Consider the case where BDS 3.2 is installed on BDA 4.10 using the BDS 3.2 downloaded from eDelivery. 2. That BDS 3.2 is disabled. 3. Then BDS 3.2 is enabled with bdacli. Without Patch 27077322 an incomplete BDS 3.2 version will be installed.
Scope
Anyone who installed or plans to install Big Data SQL 3.2 on BDA V4.10 OL5/OL6.
