Cannot Edit Jobs In HUE Job Designer After Upgrade to BDA 4.9

Symptoms
After recent upgrade of BDA from 4.4/ CDH 5.5 to BDA 4.9/ CDH 5.11.1, it is not possible to edit Hue jobs in the job designer.
The problem is observed when opening HUE -> selecting Query Editors -> Job Designer -> check a job to edit and then click the Edit button.
A GIF image displays indicating Hue is loading, and there is a very brief glimpse of the job details before the focus is returned back to the job list in the Job Designs page.
This problem affects every user with jobs in HUE. New jobs can be created but existing ones cannot be edited. The list of existing jobs is present in Hue, but editing them doesn't work.
