Symptoms
- DB hung on wait enq: PR - contention
- The following messages may be seen in the alert log:
Killing process (ospid 13172950): did not start after 120 seconds
... and the process is still alive after kill!Oracle threads may have difficulty starting
waited for 'oracle thread bootstrap', seq_num: 72

time_waited: 14.741360 sec (sample interval: 14 sec) <==this means Oracle process did not start up for 14 seconds
Changes
The previously stable system may encounter a higher than expected load and begin to show the symptoms.
