Can We Clone an PDB from an Existing CDB to Destination CDB using RMan backup/duplicate in 12c (Doc ID 2442966.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 10, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Standard Edition - Version 12.2.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Can we Clone only PDB (Without its CDBROOT and PDBSEED) to an existing CDB using Rman duplicate or Rman restore

Example :-

What we have One Server With  CDB PRODCDB_PRD which has PDB PROD_PDBPRD

PRODCDB_PRD/PROD_PDBPRD (Production) – RMAN Backup

On Remote Server we have  CDB TEST_CDBDEV  which has PDB TEST_PDBDEV .

TEST_CDBDEV/TEST_PDBDEV (Dev)

Is it Possible to Just Restore/Rman duplicate  PDB PROD_PDBPRD into CDB TEST_CDBDEV from RMAN Backup
