CONNECT via SQL*Plus = ORA-600[kspgip2] (Doc ID 2444869.1)

Symptoms

Attempting to connect to the database via SQL*Plus fails as follows:

SQL> connect test/test
ERROR:
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kspgip2], [0x07118F178], [54],[sessions], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], []

Warning: You are no longer connected to ORACLE.

 

The Call Stack Trace in the associated incident trace file shows:

kspgip <- kywmnfy <- kscnfy <- ksmcpg <- ksucrp <- ksvrdp_int <- ksvrdp <- opirip <- opidrv
 <- sou2o <- opimai_real <- opimai <- BackgroundThreadStart

 

Additional symptoms may include:

-  ORA-600[kspgip2]

-  ORA-600[krsl_redo_complete.test_half.2]

-  ORA-600[ksb_bg_rstrt_pol: no param]

-  ORA-7445[lxinitc]

-  show parameter shows a value of SESSIONS null

Changes

A command "alter system reset sessions scope=both" was successfully executed.
