Difference between *.__Memory_Parameters and SID.__Memory_Parameters in Spfile/Pfile (Doc ID 2660677.1)

Goal

Background:

1.  Set parameters in the SPFILE then created a new pfile from spfile.
2.  Modified the settings then created the spfile from pfile.
3.  Bounce the database


The parameter file it shows:  <SID>.__<parameter> and  *.__<parameter>  

What is the difference between the two?
