Procedure for gathering Oracle Database Provider for DRDA generated trace and other diagnostic data (Doc ID 2675439.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 02, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Database Provider for DRDA - Version 12.1.0.2 and later
Linux x86-64
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)

Goal

The Oracle Database Provider for DRDA (ODP4DRDA or ODP) product does not have an Alert log and the only logging available is the ODP generated trc.

Collect diagnostic information to troubleshoot ODP problems.

The process outlined below will guide the user through collecting diagnostic data that will help Support narrow down the cause of your problem.

With ODP 12.1 and 12.2, a link to the "Oracle® Database Provider for DRDA User's Guide" can be found in: Software Download Locations and Documentation Links for the Oracle Database Provider for DRDA (Doc ID 1936937.1).

Starting with 18c, the ODP User's Guide is included with the installation of 18c/19c Oracle Database (ORACLE_HOME/drdaas) for Linux x86-64, Oracle Solaris on Sparc (64 bit), and Oracle Solaris on x86-64 environments.

Safe Harbor Statement: Oracle will use this information to help diagnose the cause of the issue. In many cases this set of information will be sufficient for diagnosis - in some cases additional specific diagnostic data may be required at a later stage.
