Database Service Started On Standby After Failover. (Doc ID 2776372.1)

Symptoms

Application is connecting to read-only database after Standby DB instance restart.

In a two node RAC database , we noticed after DR/Standby database instance restart, Application connected to the read-only standby database.


Application received

ORA-16000: database or pluggable database open for read-only access

Services and database roles are defined correctly as per How To Configure Client Failover For Data Guard Connections Using Database Services (Doc ID 1429223.1)

Changes

 Standby database was restarted in read only mode.
