Requirements for Installing Oracle Database 19c 64-bit IBM Linux on System Z on SLES 15 (Doc ID 2813961.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 02, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 19.12.0.0.0 and later
Linux on IBM Z

Purpose

This note explains the requirements that need to be met for a successful installation of Oracle Database 19c on SLES 15, 64-bit (IBM Linux on System z).

It is NOT the purpose of this NOTE to repeat every "how-to" step that is presented in the Oracle Database 19c Installation Guide manual. For example, this NOTE does not include how to create the Linux OS account named "oracle", nor does it cover how to set environment variables. Both are adequately covered in Chapter 5 "Configuring Users, Groups and Environments for Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Oracle Database" of the Oracle Database 19c Installation Guide manual

Scope

This procedure is meant for those planning/trying to install Oracle Server 19c (or above) on SLES 15 on the 64-bit (IBM Linux on System z) platform.
