Goal

While applying patches on oracle home ,opatch stores a backup of the affected libraries and modules that have been updated in $ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage .This may increase the used capacity and chances are that a disk becomes full in the middle of the patching process. Features of latest opatch utility which allows to optimise the space under $ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage will be answered in this document .
