Symptoms

Database processes on Exadata X8M-8 and X9M-8 (8-socket RoCE-based) database servers may temporarily experience higher than normal IO latency when there is a RoCE network host channel adapter (HCA) port down event.  This issue affects Exadata versions 21.2.7 through 21.2.15.

In customer environments where this issue occurred the increased IO latency was imperceptible to the application.

 

A system exposed to this issue has file /etc/oracle/cell/network-config/cellaffinity.ora with no affinity map, as shown in the following example:
