Sql Plan Change In AWS West RDS Database (Doc ID 2949544.1)

Goal

It was observed that the SQL plan for the SQL IDs changed on one of the databases, which caused the multiple active connections to get backlogged and stopped some of the application components.

The performance issue was fixed by copying the good SQL plan to the database. This document explains why the change of plans occurred.
