BdaUserConfigEoib Fails on a BDA 5.2 Node Expanded into a Cluster with "Can not create VLAN for this port, port is used in LAG" (Doc ID 2980196.1)

Symptoms

NOTE: In the images, examples and document that follow, user details, cluster names, hostnames, directory paths, filenames, etc. represent a fictitious sample (and are used to provide an illustrative example only). Any similarity to actual persons, or entities, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner. 

After expanding one or more BDA 5.2 nodes into a cluster at the hardware level, it is not possible to ping the nodes or ssh into them because the client network is not setup.  This happens after the hardware expansion and prevents expansion into the cluster with the mammoth utility. 

Running /opt/oracle/bda/network/BdaUserConfigEoib, to configure the client network from the ILOM command line, on the affected node(s) fails with, "Can not create VLAN for this port, port is used in LAG".  The full error message is like that below:
