Last updated on NOVEMBER 09, 2023

Applies to:

MySQL Router - Version 8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

As written in <Document 2487438.1>, MySQL Server uses the host name where MySQL Router is running for authentication if clients connect via MySQL Router. The MySQL Router host names are also used in SHOW PROCESSLIST output; it is not possible to identify the actual client hosts for connections via MySQL Router. This document describes how to identify the actual client hosts when clients connect via MySQL Router.
