Symptoms

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [ddfnet7Restore()+320] [SIGSEGV] [Address not mapped to object] [0x000000088] [] [] when attempting to refresh snapshot.

The following conditions match :

1> Materialized view is created in 10.1.0.3
2> Master table is in a remote database (8.1.7.4)
3> Master table is accessed via a synonym. The synonym is created in the remote database and is in a schema different schema from the one containing the Master table
