Last updated on FEBRUARY 18, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 9.2.0.6 to 9.2.0.7 [Release 9.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
The following error/combination of errors have been observed within the alert log for this issue:-

a) ORA-00600[729]+ORA-07445[LXMCPEN] within the same trace file
b) ORA-00600[729]+ORA-07445 within the same trace file and in 7445 file we see LXMCPEN within the stack

Symptoms

a) Both 7445/600 errors will be seen in a single trace file and maybe in addition in separate files but at least one trace file should contain both errors

b) The 600[729] trace will contain a message similar to :-

EXTENT 4 addr=1039b8708
      Chunk        1039b8718 sz=      600    recreate  "bind var heap  "  latch=0
ERROR, BAD FIRST EXTENT (0)

And the Chunk needs to be "bind var heap" when the bad extent is reported

c) The session info will show that a DBLINK is being used

If other symptoms are seen this should be considered as a different issue
