Symptoms

  • Upgrading a database from 8.1.7 to 10.2 results in errors
  • Errors seen in the Oracle_Server.log are:
        BEGIN dbms_registry.upgrading('ORDIM', NULL, 'validate_ordim', NULL, 
        dbms_registry.schema_list_t('ORDPLUGINS','SI_INFORMTN_SCHEMA')); END; 
        * 
        ERROR at line 1:

        ORA-6512: at "SYS.DBMS_SYS_ERROR", line 86 
        ORA-6512: at "SYS.DBMS_REGISTRY", line 71

  • Selecting from DBA_REGISTRY reports interMedia still being in a pre-8.1.7 release after the upgrade has been completed:
