This problem can occur on any platform.
This problem was observed in 22.214.171.124 on a HP-UX PA-RISC (64-bit) server.
A PL/SQL procedure was attempting to create a string variable that was greater than 32K.
This shows up in the alert log as an error:
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: , , [pga heap]
