Symptoms

The DDAL$MSG.DOC file for the error BADDBKUPD says the following with regard to an optional solution:

Your second choice is to insert a row in the target table, a row that has in the DDAL$DBKEY column a value for the source database key that matches the one that appears in the error message.

However, the text does not say how to insert DDAL$DBKEY, which must be inserted in binary format.
