Last updated on AUGUST 30, 2023

Applies to:

Advanced Networking Option - Version 10.1.0.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The application is configured to use LDAP authentication with the database.

The database wallet password was successfully regenerated in the past using dbca with cn=orcladmin and there were no issues.

Since that time, an Oracle Internet Directory (OID) realm password policy has been configured and enabled. The OID password policy expires passwords after 6 months, so near this time dbca was run again to regenerate the password. This succeeded but after this EUS users cannot login to the database, getting error:

Now dbca regenerate password can no longer be executed either.
