When installing any product containing a "pre-seeded" database on a Linux server, at the moment of the creation of the seeded database, the installation simply stops and hangs forever.  This was initialy diagnosed in an Oracle Secure Search install, but it is likely to happen on any product that might invoke DBCA for database instance creation.

The Database Configuration Assistant prints the following output on the installActions<date>.log:

Configuration assistant "Oracle Net Configuration Assistant" succeeded
Result code for launching of configuration assistant is: 0
Launched configuration assistant 'Oracle Database Configuration Assistant'
Tool type is: Recommended.
The command being spawned is: '<oracle_home>/bin/dbca -progress_only -templateName Seed_Database.dbc -gdbName <globalname> -sid <sid> -obfuscatedPasswords true -sysPassword <encryptedpwd> -systemPassword <encryptedpwd> -emConfiguration NONE -datafileJarLocation <oracle_home>/assistants/dbca/templates -datafileDestination <db_oracle_home>/oradata -characterset AL32UTF8 -oratabLocation <oracle_home>/install/oratab -completionDialog FALSE -sampleSchema false -createDatabase'

Start output from spawned process:
Warning: Cannot convert string "-b&h-lucida-medium-r-normal-sans-*-140-*-*-p-*-
iso8859-1" to type FontStruct

The OUICA command is launched from <oracle_home>/oui/bin/

All the required packages are valid and the prerequisite checks are passed.

NOTE: This problem can be reproduced on any different distribution of Linux and on other Unix platforms as well, and for both 32 or 64 bit.
