Symptoms
ORA-01078 usually occurrs during processing of the initialization parameters during system startup. In most cases, there are accompanying messages which makes the error easier to diagnose, e.g.:
The accompanying message is very important and must be understood/diagnosed to find the reason for the ORA-01078. The LRM-00101 above shows that there's an unknown parameter name added in the parameter file and causing the startup to fail.
