Purpose

The tables below cross reference datatypes for CDD/Repository, C, COBOL, FORTRAN and BASIC.  Records were defined in a dictionary spanning the entire suite of datatypes that CDD supports.  These records were then incorporated into test programs as structures to validate the datatypes, and substitutions provided by the languages.

Cross referencing with the companion articles for database designing and transaction processing, the datatype selection process during application development is simplified.
