Queue Monitor (QMON) Processes Are Not Removing PROCESSED Messages or Changing the State of WAITING Messages in a RAC Cluster

(Doc ID 732743.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 02, 2015

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version to [Release 10.2 to 11.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Intermittently in a RAC Cluster queue monitor slave processes are not removing PROCESSED messages which is leading to queue tables growing in size and eventually exhausting the space in the tablespace.

In addition to this messages enqueued with a DELAY specified and are in a WAITING state may not have their state changed to READY to make them available for dequeue at the appropriate time.

This issue can arise without any kind of reconfiguration having taken place in the RAC cluster.
