Symptoms
A 10.2 onwards Messaging Gateway agent fails to start, with an error similar to the following:
Connecting to database using connect string = jdbc:oracle:oci8:@MGW_AGENT
>>2008-10-22 14:14:19 MGW Engine 0 EXCEPTION main
oracle.mgw.admin.MgwAdminException: [241] Failed to connect to database. SQL error: 28547,
