The purpose of this article is to explain SQL preprocessor fundamentals. 


The SQL precompiler does many things that are not apparent when you use the precompiler. The same precompiler executable program is used for all supported languages, and is not a compiler. This article discusses how the SQL precompiler works, and how to effectively use it for general program development.
