Symptoms

Using the Database Gateway for ODBC (DG4ODBC) 11.1.0.7 on Linux x86 5.3 to select from MySQL using a PL/SQL procedure fails with error :

ORA-04052: error occurred when looking up remote object vpdodbc.discounts@MYSQL
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
[MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver][mysqld-5.0.45]SELECT command denied to user
'vpdodbc'@'mysql.host' for table 'discounts'
ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from MYSQL

The same command works successfully in a SQL statement run from SQLPLUS.
