Symptoms

Applied 10.1.0.5 database patchset.

After executing post installation steps of the 10.1.0.5 database patchset, ODM - Data Mining component shows status INVALID without displaying version information:

COMP_NAME                           STATUS      VERSION ----------------------------------- ----------- ---------- Oracle Data Mining INVALID

SQL*Plus banner and V$OPTION indicates that the component is installed.

Tried re-installation of Data Mining to the database as SYS AS SYSDBA using steps from <Note 420791.1>:

Both dminst.sql and odmpatch.sql error out in their last step when those try to execute SYS.VALIDATE_ODM procedure (which is supposed to validate the ODM component):

BEGIN sys.validate_odm; END;

*

Changes

Applied 10.1.0.5 database patchset.
Then to solve invalidity of ODM component, attempted to reinstall ODM to the database.
