Connections to an Oracle Rdb database using OCI Services fail. The errors that occur indicate a network protocol error, or a network error. Client tracing needs to be enabled for more information.
The purpose of this article is to describe how to enable OCI Services client tracing to help debug network problems.
Oracle Net Services is the replacement name for the Oracle Networking product formerly known as SQL*Net (Oracle7 [v2.x]) and Net8 (Oracle8/8i [v8.0/8.1]). For consistency, the term Oracle Net is used throughout this article and refers to all Oracle Net product versions
