Symptoms

A file system - including an ASM Cluster File System (ACFS) - on Linux (Red Hat 5/Oracle Enterprise Llinux 5) was exported with the following options:

rw,no_root_squash,sync,fsid=83

The file system was then NFS mounted to an HP server running HP-UX B11.23, with the following mount options:

rw,bg,hard,nointr,wsize=32768,rsize=32768,actimeo=0,vers=3,timeo=600

Data pump export was then run with the dump file destination specified on that NFS mounted file system. That failed with the following errors:

ORA-39001: invalid argument value
ORA-39000: bad dump file specification
ORA-31641: unable to create dump file "<Data Pump dump file name>"
ORA-27038: created file already exists
