Compiling the Category Key Flexfield Errors With APP-00668 in the Form FNDFFMIS (Doc ID 1047850.6)

Symptoms

You are attempting to set up the Category Flexfield in the Key Flexfield Segments form.

Navigation:
Setup/Financials/Flexfields/Key/Segments (Form FNDFFMIS)

You select the Oracle Assets Category Flexfield and press the Segments button.  You enter at least one (or more) flexfield segment(s) in this structure.  You check the box to enable the segments and verify that the setup for the value sets is correct.  You then return to the Key Flexfield Segments form, check Freeze Flexfield Definition, press the Compile button, and receive the following error:

APP-00668: The data that defines the flexfield on this field may be inconsistent.
Inform your system administrator that the function: FDFRKS could not
find the structure definition for the flexfield specified by
Application =&APPL, Code=CAT#, and Structure number=101 (APPID=140)

Pressing the History button returns the same error with the following addition:

FDFBKS: REQUIRED constraint specified for BASED_CATEGORY qualifier is not satisfied.
