Details

The purpose of this document is to inform Oracle Receivables Users that Oracle Development has released the following 7 Reports in BI Publisher format in Release 12.1.1 and 12.1.2 :

AR Reconciliation Report (XML)
Customer Open Balance Letter (XML)
Import Batch De-Duplication Report (XML)
Invoice Exception Report (XML)
Receipt Analysis - Days Late (XML)
TCA Import Error Report (XML)
Incomplete Invoices Report (XML)
 
This article is useful to Users / Consultants who are using Oracle Receivables and use /run/ customize Reports for their day to day activities.
These are not new Reports but replacement of existing Reports which have same name without the suffix (XML). The existing Reports were created using Oracle Reports while these new Reports are created using BI (XML) Publisher . It is a java-based product available within the technology stack of the E-Business Suite. It provides a template-based, easy-to-use publishing solution based on standard, well-known technologies and tools so users can quickly take advantage of it to develop and maintain report formats.At report runtime these template formats are applied to the XML data to generate rich, visually appealing popular report outputs like PDF, RTF, HTML, EXCEL etc.

For every existing Oracle Report based Concurrent Program, the following objects are delivered viz.,
 - Concurrent Program Definition
 - XDO Definition (RTF Template ;Data Template)
 - RTF Template (This defines the layout and format triggers)
 - Data Template (This defines the Queries and data structure)
 - PLS Files (This contains the program units present in the .rdf file)
 
Concurrent Program (CP)
------------------
The structure of BI Concurrent Program is same as that of the Oracle Report based Concurrent Program. The BI Concurrent Program differs in the following
      - The CP Name ends with ' (XML)'
      - The CP Short Name ends with '_XML'
      - The Executable is 'XDODTEXE'
      - The Output Type is 'XML'
 
Concurrent Program Parameters
--------------------------------
All parameters pertaining to the Oracle Report based Concurrent Program are retained in the new BI Publisher based Concurrent Program. There is no change to any of the parameters but for a new Parameter 'DebugFlag'.
The details are:
ValueSet: 'Yes/No'
Default Value: 'N'
Display: 'No'
To have a detailed log, this default value can be set to 'Y'.
 
SEED Data
------------
Concurrent Program Definition:
The Definition pertaining to BI Publisher based Concurrent Programs are accommodated in a single ldt file viz., arbicprog.ldt .
This file was extracted from seed database using the lct afcpprog.lct
 
XDO Definition:
----------------
The XDO Definition for RTF Templates and Data Templates are accommodated in a single ldt file viz., arxdodefn.ldt .This file was extracted from seed database using the lct xdotmpl.lct
 
File Naming Convention being used
------------------------------------
For instance, consider the Concurrent Program ARXRECON.
The RDF for this Program is ARXRECON.rdf
 PLS      - <>S.pls (ARXRECONS.pls)
         <>B.pls (ARXRECONB.pls)
 RTF Template - <>_XML.rtf (ARXRECON_XML.rtf)
 Data Template - <>_XML.xml (ARXRECON_XML.xml)

Please Note that you will find many more new XML Concurrent Programs (Reports) in Receivables .
Development is working on the same and those will be released in future.
All those Reports are Not Enabled and name is appended with word 'Not Supported: Reserved For Future Use' .
So they won't give correct results and you should not use till you get confirmation from Oracle Support.
