SMC not Rating as Expected when Having to Calculate the Weight Due to A Ship Unit Count More than 1 (Doc ID 1079701.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Operational Planning - Version 6.0 to 6.0.5 [Release 6]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On OTM Version 6.0, When building a shipment using SMC rating, if the line item has more than 1 ship unit count and has to calculate the total weight, the shipment does not rate as expected. Instead it rates using a count of 1 with the single weight and ends up building the shipment with the minimum cost.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Log into OTM

2. Create an Order Release where a ship unit has multiple ship unit Counts. For example:

1 ship unit - Default Transport Unit
500 Ship Unit Count
Weight - 7.50 per count
Contains 1 line item: Package Count: 54
7.50 per count

3. Create a shipment using an SMC Rate

4. Note the Cost is the minimum cost plus any accessorials and not as expected.
