Symptoms

Cancel actions against the Approval Management Engine (AME) Requisitions using core Purchasing result in the application leaving an active and open notification for the Approver.  The Approver is unaware of the cancel action and they reply to the notification, which in turn is causing the requisition workflow to fail with the following:
