Excluded/Included Browsing Categories and Their Visibility In iProcurement Stores (Doc ID 1104834.1)

Last updated on APRIL 01, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle iProcurement - Version 12.1.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Oracle iProcurement, Release 12.1.1, an item category belongs to two browsing categories.  Two scenarios are being seen:

SCENARIO 1:

When one of the browsing categories is excluded from the content zone definition, the other browsing category also becomes unavailable for viewing in the store using this content zone.

It is expected that the browsing category that was not excluded from the content zone will appear in the store that is using the content zone.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. The item shows on two different browsing categories
Responsibility: IP Catalog Administration
Navigation: Schema tab > Category Hierarchy subtab
- The Item "Bars" is displayed inside two browsing categories, "11- TUBULARS" and "Valves".

2. Edit the content zone so that items from one of the two categories will not be available.
Responsibility: IP Catalog Administration
Navigation: Stores tab > Content Zones subtab
- Edit the content zone "Consumable Store"
- In the Categories section of the page, make the following settings:
--- Enable the button "Exclude items from specific categories"
--- Add the Category "11- TUBULARS" to the list.
--- The category "Valves" is not on the list of excluded categories.
--- Save

3. Shop for the item "Bars"
Responsibility: iProcurement
- Shop tab
- Click the link to store "Consumable Store"
- The excluded browsing category "11- TUBULARS" does not appear in the list of categories available for this store. The browsing category "Valves" also does not appear; however, it is expected that this category will appear since this category was not excluded from the content zone definition.

SCENARIO 2:

When one of the two browsing categories is included in the content zone definition, the other browsing category also becomes available for viewing in the store using this content zone.

It is expected that the category that was not included from the content zone will appear in the store that is using the content zone.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. The item shows on two different browsing categories
Responsibility: IP Catalog Administration
Navigation: Schema tab > Category Hierarchy subtab
- The Item Category "Bars" is displayed inside two browsing categories, "11-TUBULARS" and "Valves".

2. The Asset Zone content zone is assigned to store Capital Asset
Responsibility: IP Catalog Administration
Navigation: Stores tab > Stores subtab

3. Edit the content zone so that items from one of the two categories will be available.
Responsibility: IP Catalog Administration
Navigation: Stores tab > Content Zones subtab
- Edit the content zone "Asset Zone"
- In the Categories section of the page, make the following settings:
--- Enable the button "Include items from specific categories"
--- Add the Category "11-TUBULARS" to the list.
--- The category "Valves" is not on the list of included browsing categories.
--- Save

4. Shop for items with the item category "Bars"
Responsibility: iProcurement
- Shop tab
- Click the link to store "Capital Asset"
- The included browsing category "11-TUBULARS" appears in the list of categories available for this store. The browsing category "Valves" also appears, however; it is expected that this category will not appear since this category was not included on the content zone definition.
