Database Character Set Conversion of R12 E-Business Suite Environment to AL32UTF8 Fails with ORA-02262 and ORA-904 Error (Doc ID 1179185.1)

Symptoms

 

After converting non-ascii character data in the database, Characterset Conversion Tool executes ALTER DATABASE CHARACTER SET  (ADCS) command. ADCS command fails with following error:

ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-02262: ORA-904 occurs while type-checking column default value expression could not alter the database character set
