Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 11.5.10.2 version, Inventory Costing

Found transactions with transaction_type_id =26, periodic cost update,
these transactions belong to the item. These transactions were affecting the
item's periodic average cost. The transactions were Acquisition cost
Adjustments transactions with source_code = 'ACQADJ'.

Where do these transaction come from? User would like to understand where
do these come from and what concurrent process generated them, so that this
info can be passed back to end users.

The explanation given by developer as to why ACQADJ was created was
explained as below:
When the Acquisition cost adjustment process is run on a period and a new
acquisition cost is calculated for the invoices whose parent receipt ID
falls in any previously closed period, then to reflect the Acquisition cost
adjustment
Periodic cost update transactions are created

The adjustment amount is calculated for only those invoices that fall within
this open period but whose parent receipt lies in some previously closed
period. The adjustment amount that is calculated for a parent receipt is an
incremental adjustment amount for a receipt i.e
=> (today's value) - [(receipt quantity * Acq cost) + (any periodic cost
updates posted against this receipt)

Above explanation needs further clarification as per customer remarks:
Yes, we do not know where these transactions ACQADJ came from and you told
us automatically generated by invoices with receipts due to closed periods,
therefore, we need to know which invoices and receipts did this, and how to
calculate the adjustment value.

Attached the file "mmt_inventory_item_id_1236645.xls" with result of mtl
_material_transactions for inventory_item_id = 1236645

Also.from file reference txn_sql_item_id_1236645.xls we have transaction_ids
462576610 and 479473853 which created periodic cost update transactions
for source code = 'ACQADJ'.

Customer needs explanation why these transactions were created. How to use
the formula : Adjustment amount = (today's value) - [(receipt quantity *
Acq cost) + (any periodic cost updates posted against this receipt), etc...
giving an example to understand the transactions type id 26 with source
code ACQADJ . This will then be explained to the users.. They cannot find
any invoice or receipt which they can associate to come up with the correct
calculation.
