An EBS user received 900+ emails from workflow, seemingly all for two or three already closed notifications.
Several possible scenarios:
1) User's Email address domain changes when bought by another company. For example, user@companyA.com becomes user@companyB.com.
2) User's Email address changes due to a name change. For example, firstname.lastname@example.org becomes email@example.com.
3) An email alias is deleted or changed in the mail system. For example, firstname.lastname@example.org used to be an alias for email@example.com. A decision was made to simply have emails go to Joe's account directly resulted in the deletion of the alias firstname.lastname@example.org.
