Accessorial Cost Retains Amount After Switching Basis (Doc ID 1299522.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Management - Version 6.1.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Assumption:
An accessorial cost exists, with a cost of 1.00 USD per cost type Shipment.

If this is then changed to a cost type of 'shipment base cost' and a percentage, the amount field of the former cost type disappears, but OTM does retain the old cost entered, i.e. the amount of 1.00 USD. This is subsequently still used for calculating the accessorial cost, instead of the newly entered
percentage, and leads to wrong results on the shipment cost.

This is extremely inconvenient and can lead to a multitude of errors, since
the user may be unaware that a cost is still present in the 'invisible' (to
him) field and in essence, the visual illusion is that everything is set up
correctly. It becomes even more an issue, when the accessorial cost is used
as a template and thus could affect multiple rates.
