OPM Cost Update Has Been Run In Final Mode. Is It Possible To Unfreeze These Costs?

Goal
You are using OPM (Process Manufacturing) Cost Management in either Release 11i or Release 12 (12.0.x or 12.1.x).
A user has run the Cost Update process for the next Period to be closed, but they mistakenly set the 'Final' flag in the request submission form, and the costs of all OPM Items are therefore Frozen.
Now there are additional changes which need to be made to Item Costs before the Period End processes can be completed.
Is there a script or process that can be run to unfreeze costs for the Period being worked on?
